Welcome to You Ask Andy

Robert Gibbley age 11 of Manhsim, Pennsylvania, for his question:

Are there any Komodo dragons left?

Yes indeed, there are Komodo Dragons left on earth and they are very much alive. However, you are not likely to meet up with one of these giant lizards in the wild, They live on only a few small islands between Borneo and Australia. The home of the Komodo Dragons are the Indonesian islands of Komodo, Padar, Rintja and Flores.

Even if you visit this remote part of the world, chances are you will miss seeing the biggest of all lizards. The ten‑foot‑long fellow is very shy and wary. He lives in the brush and mountain country and he knows every trick for hiding in the long grasses and among the rocks, Even the natives of these islands rarely catch a glimpse of him.
