Curt Cameron, age 8 of Illinois, for his question:
What makes the sun shine
Andy says have you ever watched a big bonfire blaring away? At night you can see its light shining cut in all directions Wells the sun is a great bonfire, bigger than any fire that you could imagine. It is a blazings ball of fire so big that a million of our worlds could rattle around inside it if it weren’t so hot of course.
The sun sends its blaring light out in all directions. A very very small amount of it falls upon our earth as sunshine. The light of the sun must travel 93 million miles before it reaches us and it makes the trip in about eight minutes.
