Welcome to You Ask Andy

How did the cauliflower get its name?

This vegetable is just as delicious whether you serve it with melted cheese or buttered bread crumbs. And, cheese or breadcrumbs, its name still means cabbage flower. With a few changes this word has come down to us through the Latin by way of the French. It was originally two words    one meant cabbage the other was a form of the word flower.
