Do violets sometimes bloom in the fall?

Sometimes, when the fall is long and sunny, the spring flowers seem to mistake the season. They feel that warm spring days are here again and burst into a second blooming to welcome it.

Once in a while, this happens to spring flowers such as violets and dandelions. In a warm fall season, the forsythia too, has been known to bloom a second time and even lilacs have come out to bask in a few warm days of false spring.
