How do snakes hear?

The truth is that a snaky does not hear at all. Ho is stone deaf because he has no praper ears. He can, however, detect vibrations from solid objects. Footsteps cause vibrations to b© carried through the ground. The body of a snake can feel the vibrations, so he knows when you walk towards him.

We have all hoard or seen pictures of a cobra who dances to flute music. But even so, he does not hear the music. The trick is done through the snake's wonderful eyesight. He sues every movement and shifts his graceful body to defend himself.

Watch the flutist as he plays his magic tune. Ho is moving gently to and. fry to the music. The graceful, stone deaf snake sways with him.
