Welcome to You Ask Andy

Ronald Chamberlin, age 10, of San Jose, California,, for his question:

Will the earth ever run out of air?

This is one thing we do not have to worry about. For the old earth has made sure that she will never lose her copy blanket of air. The atmosphere is hugged to the solid globe by the force of gravity. It can’t escape the pull of gravity and wander off into space. The old earth will never let go of her precious air.

What's more, she makes sure there is always enough oxygen in the air far all her children to breathe. The plants use up the carbon dioxide, the waste gas we breathe out. They use the carbon part of this gas and return the oxygen to the air. So long as there are green plants on the earth there will be plenty of oxygen for all living things, And this oxygen is part of the atmosphere whiah is hold to the earth by the powerful pull of gravity.

What each one has to worry is not to pollute our precious and life giving air. With so many cars other many other human activity our air could be so polluted that we would be in danger of loosing all forms of life on earth.
