Gary Bilt, age 11, of Elyria, for is question:
Where does the aardvark live?
The Dutch Boors discovered the aardvark when they settled South Africa. They named the strange animal from two crutch words meaning, earth and pig. Actually, he is no relative of the pig, but he does burrow in the earth. He is an anteater, always hunting for the nests of ants and termites.
The aardvark is a native of Africa, and wherever ants are most plentiful. from South Africa to Ethiopia. Full grown he is six feet in length. He is very fat rind round in the middle, t ripering to n long, pointed tail at and a long pointed snout at the other. Inside, his gut is a long, slendor tongue, very useful. for gathering up ants and termites.
The aardvark is a night prowler and very shy. So he is seldom seen men, even in his native land.
