Are there really mountains on the moon?

Yes, there are mountains on the moon. They show up in telescope pictures of the lunar landscape, The many craters of the moon are surrounded by steep walls topped with jagged spikes. Some of these walls and their pinnacles are one and two miles high.

There are also mountain, ranges on the moon; one of these mountains are a mile high, others are two miles high and a few are three miles high, The moon is only a quarter as big as the earth. Our highest mountains are less than six miles high.  This means that, in proportion, the mountains on the moon are higher than the mountains on earth]

There is a big difference between our mountains and the lunar mountains. The mountain peaks on earth are worn smooth by wind and weather. Given time, even our most jagged peaks will be worn round and smooth. This does not happen to the mountains on the moon. There is no, wind, no snow and no rain to wear down those sharp jagged pinnacles and peaks of the moon. For there is no air to make any weather on the moon, The lunar mountains are as rough  and ragged as when they first poked up their noses from the ground,
