How fast is the earth going around the sun?
Day and night, year in and gear out our old earth is rushing in its eternal orbit around the sari. It never stops, lets up or slows down. And it travels faster than you have ever traveled in a car, train or jet.
It has to. For every year it has to make one complete circle of the sun. And the distance around that circle is almost 3,18 million miles. To get the job done, the earth has to keep up a speed of 66,000 miles an hour. That is eighteen and a half miles every second.
