Welcome to You Ask Andy

Steve Adams, age 13, of Winston Salem, North Carolina, for his question:

Can anything travel faster than light?

Several cosmic travelers equal the speed of light    so light does not outdistance all the other travelers in the universe, Radio waves and other forms of electromagnetic energy whip across space at the same speed of 186,000 miles per second. Neutrinos and perhaps many other elementary particles also rip through the vast reaches of the galaxy at the velocity of light. But so far as we know, none of these cosmic travelers can exceed this fabulous velocity.
