How did the dinosaurs hatch their eggs?

The last dinosaur said goodbye to the world about 60 million years ago. This was long before the human family arrived to live on the earth, so nobody was there to watch how the dinosaurs hatched their eggs. However, a few batches of old dinosaur eggs have been found buried in the ground. We also know some other things to help us guess what happened.

Mrs. Dinosaur was a reptile and our reptiles of today are not very good parents. Many snakes lay their eggs in the sand and just go away and leave them. The summer sun keeps the ground warm and cozy and the little snakes hatch out all by themselves. Most likely Mrs. Dinosaur also left her eggs to hatch all by themselves in the warm ground. We think this is what happened, but nobody was there to prove that dinosaur eggs hatched in this way.
