Butch Bearden age 15, of Kleberg Texas for his question:
Is the earth much bigger than the moon?
In the Solar System, there are only five satellites larger than our golden moon. And all of them belong to the giant planets. Seen from say, Jupiter, our earth would seem to be about four times larger than its moon. This is something of a record for a moon. For all the other planets of the Solar System are much, much bigger than their moons.
The earth's diameter is a little more than four times longer than the diameter of the moon. If the earth were hollow, however, it could swallow 49 moon‑sized satellites. On the scales, we would need about 81 moons to equal one earth. The earth's gravity is six times greater than the gravity of the moon, If you weigh 90 pounds on earth on the moon you would weigh only 15 pounds.
