Welcome to You Ask Andy

Rosemary Hayes, age 10, of Forest City; Iowa, for her question:

The yeti is almost ready to take his place in the Zoo of Imaginary Animals, along with the unicorn, the giant sea serpent and the fire breathing dragon. For many years he has been known as the abominable snowman and all sorts of hair‑raising tales about him have sifted down from the high Himalayas, where he is supposed to live. There were pictures of his footprints, bits of his hair and someone claimed to own his scalp. He was described as a ferocious ape‑man, but the scientists were not convinced that he existed.

Last year, Sir Edmund Hillary took a party up the snowy slopes to find out once and for all whether the yeti was real or imaginary. The footprints seemed more likely the melted footprints of a deer or even a rabbit. The scalp came from a mountain goat, There is no proof that the yeti exists and no more clues to investigate, So, he is most likely an imaginary animal.
