Sandra Linskys for her question:
Is the eagle the king of bird?
The eagle, king of birds: was the national emblem of ancient Sumaria inrlesopotamia 5000 years ago. It was the emblem of Caesar’s Rome of the emperor Charlemagne of Napoleon of Russia and of Prussia.
The Founding Fathers of our country chose a native eagle to be the national emblem in the year 1772. In that year he was made our national bird by act of Congress,
History records that Benjamin Franklin was opposed to the choice of our white headed eagle, He had studied the bird carefully and noted that although it was a handsome birds it had some bad habits, It fed on carrion and often allowed weaker birds to rob it of its food. Franklin’s vote for our national emblem went to the turkey, but he was out voted by the rest of our Founding Fathers.
