Welcome to You Ask Andy

Edward Tipton, age 12, of Brasstown, N,C., for his question:

What is inside a flying saucer

Once in a while somebody spots a strange object in the sky. The navy, the army and the commercial airlines all disclaim this mysterious flying object. Maybe it is a weather observation balloon which strayed off course. In any case, nobody is quite sure what it is and by the time investigations get under way, it has gone from sight. It becomes listed as a UFO, an undentified flying object.

Human beings hate to leave a secret unsolved. When it is impossible to get the true facts, we tend to make up imaginary details to satisfy our curiosity. Sometimes these imaginary explanations turn out to be correct   more often they are wide of the mark.

We do not know as yet all the facts about these UFOs, so lets not allow our imaginations to run wild. We cannot tell what is inside a flying saucer because we are not sure whether one really exists.
