Jeanann Stokes, age 14, of Gary, n ., or her question:
What is blood plasma?
The red color of blood comes from countless separate blood cells. These tiny bodies are carried in an endless flow of clear liquid the blood plasma. This liquid keeps the red cells circulating throughout the body. What's more, it contains dissolved chemicals and carries them throughout the body also,
About 90% of the blood plasma is water. The dissolved chemicals are proteins, fats, sugars, amino acids, nitrogen compounds, traces of minerals, salts and many other compounds vital to the body, The chemistry of the plasma must remain the same, or the blood cells will become unhealthy.
