What is marine biology?
Biology is the study of living things, both plant and animal. Marine, of oourses refers to the salty ocean and marine biology is the study of living things in the sea naturally, Now make a list of all the different things you know that live in the sea. There are fishes, squids, lobsters and a multitude of other shellfishi there are starfish and seals' great whales and porpoises. There are countless varieties of seawaeds Md untold numbers of one celled creatures too small for our ayes to see.
This gives you some idea of all the branches of study included in marine biology. Still another branch of this science is important to our dinner tables. We love fish of all gorse and the marina biologist is interested in keeping our supply of ocean fish healthy and plentiful. He is interested where these travel and how they can be protected.
