Jams Gray Owen, Jr., age 10, of Miami, Florida for his question:
Where does the squirrel monkey live?
This little darling is a native of the New World. He likes the warm hilly woodlands in several regions from Costa Rica in Central America through Bolivia and Peru in South America. No more than a foot long, this charmer is often gaily colored. His legs, shoulders and tummy may be yellowish grey and he often has a hairy crown of black or grey on his head. His back, hands end feet are often a brilliant orange red color.
The squirrel monkey gets his name from his sharp, squirrel like face. He makes a splendid pet and for his size rates as one of the brainiest of all animals.
