To what class does the worm belong?
The little earthworm belongs in the animal phylum Annelida, meaning the ringed ones, There are about 7, 000 of the annelids living in the modern world and all of them have ringed bodies. The rings are formed by alternate sections of soft and harder skin.
The genus name of the earthworm is Lumbricus and the most common species in the genus is terrestris. Mr. Pinkyts fancy name is Lumbricus terrestris of the phylum Annelidas
