Butch Funches, age 8, of Jackson,,Miss for his question:
Where do hurricanes go?
A hurricane is hatched over the warm ocean. It soon begins to travel. Sometimes it stays over the sea, tossing the waves and the ships. Sometimes its path takes it over the land where it destroys buildings and does untold harm. The weathermen chart the path of the angry storm from the very beginning. They know when it will reach a certain place and what path it will take. They also know that the storm will last only for a few days,
The howling winds of the hurricane are very strong. But they work very hard, using up their energy. Knocking over buildings and uprooting trees makes them tired. Soon the angry winds die down. The hurricane is worn out and soon dies.
