WHAT IS THE LONGEST WORD IN THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE?

A 29 letter word meaning" 'the action of estimating as worthless" is the longest one in the Oxford English Dictionary. The word is floccipaucinihilipilification.

In Webster's Third International Dictionary you'll find this 45 letter word which is the name of a miner's lung disease: pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis.

Longest chemical term is the word which describes Bovine NADP specific glautamate dehydrogenase. This product contains 500 different amino acids and the resulting name has 3,600 letters. Needless to say, it isn't easy to pronounce.

Longest known English language palindromic word (spelled the same forwards and backwards) is the nine letter "redivider. "
