Diane Wright, age 11 of Tucson, Ariz., for her question.
DO TURTLES HAVE EARS?
A turtle has inner ears buried under his leathery skin. But his sense of hearing is not very keen. He may sense vibrations through solid objects, such as footsteps. But he either ignores or fails to hear sounds that travel through the air His sense of smell is quite good, especially when selecting a tasty morsel of food. His eyesight is quite good, and he even sees colors.
