Janice Connellyq age 109 of Turtle Creek, Pa. for her question:
WHAT ARE THE FLORIDA KEYS?
Running for about 230 miles southwest from Cape Florida at the southern end of the state are the Florida Keysp a string of limestone coral reefs. Fifty of the islands are inhabited with Key West at the westerly end of the chain. U.S. Highway 1 starts at this spot, running to the mainland of Florida over a series of brides and causeways.
Tropical fruits are grown on the islands. There are also large fishing sponge gathering and tourist businesses on the Keys.
