WHO WAS HELEN OF TROY?
Helen of Troy is one of the most famous ladies to come out of Greek mythology. She was regarded by almost everybody as the most beautiful woman in the world. Helen was the daughter of Zeus, the king of the gods, and Leda, a human being.
Helen was stolen by a great hero named These us when she was only a child. The harp wanted her to be his wife. But Helen's brothers, Pollux and Castor, cams and rescued her.
Ail of the kings in Greece wanted to marry Helen when she became an adult. Helen herself picked out Menelaus, king of Sparta, to be her husband.
Aphrodite, the goddess of beauty, had promised a young prince named Paris that he could be Helen's husband. So Aphrodite caused Helen to fall in love with Paris against her will, and she went with him to Troy. The Greeks were very upset and went to war against Troy. Paris dis3 and Helen was saved.
After the war Helen and Menelaus again found each other, and they lived happily together.
